16.-17.7.2011 We took part to Oulu International Show. On the first day Sibelius was BOB and on the second day he was best male 2nd. The first day was rainy but on the second day the sun was shining and it was quite warm. Sibelius didn't move well at all in the ring. I had to drag him behind me and his movement was very lazy. Typical Field Spaniel, if he doesn't feel like doing something he wont do it:) But this was our last show for this year. Sibelius will start the hunting season at the end of August, so we will continue at dog shows next spring.5.6.2011 We had a nice trip to Tallinn Estonia. The Estonian Winner 2011 show was held there. Sibelius was BOB and got a CAC and his fourth CACIB. He became Estonian Winner 2011, Estonian Champion, and C.I.B. International Champion of Beauty and C.I.E. International Show Champion!!! (These titles are not confirmed yet, but I am waiting for the confirmation:) Sibelius is now qualified for Crufts 2012! So maybe we will make a visit next year to Sibelius's birth country:)
22.5.2011 Sibelius was BOB and got his third CACIB at Helsinki International Show! This was our first show after last summers World Winner. Last autumn Sibelius stayed in Oulu with my husbands parents and went duck hunting almost everyday. When the duck hunting season was over in November, he came back home to us. After hunting for several months, his coat was not in the best condition, so we waited a while for it to grow back. Now during this summer 2011 we will attend several dog shows and at the end of August the hunting season begins again. We will also try to attend a hunting test this year. I am still so amazed at how versatile Sibelius is: good hunting abilities combined with good looks:)
27.6.2010 SIBELIUS IS WORLD WINNER 2010!!! We had wonderful trip to Denmark. We stayed there for a five day holiday and Sibelius topped it by being BOB and gaining the WW10-title at the World Winner 2010 Show in Herning Denmark. Thank you Annmari for handling Sibelius so well.

10.4.2010 Today Sibelius became Finnish Show Champion!!! We visited a group show in Pertunmaa and Sibelius was Best of Breed and received the needed CAC to qualify for the title. For the Finnish Show Champion the dog needs three CAC's with at least one of them received after turning 2 years and also the dog has to pass the Spaniel Working Ability Test. I need to take some new pictures to show how handsome Sibelius looks:)
13.12.2009 We visited the Nordic Winner 2009 Show, held in Helsinki. It was a visit because we were'nt placed in the best male competition. But Sibelius received excellent, which means that so far he has got only excellent and all from different judges!
I will try to take some new pics of our dogs during Christmas time. The weather has been so terrible and there hasn't been any snow, so I haven't felt like taking any pictures. Finally now it looks better and we are looking forward to the lakes freezing so we can go skiiing with the boys:)

25.10.2009 Today was the Finnish Spaniel Associations main show of the year. There were 19 Field Spaniel entries and Sibelius was 2nd Best Male and got another CAC:)
Autumn has been busy and we´ve been practising obedience and hunting. We are looking forward to a trip to Northern Finland where we´ll go duck hunting.
10.9.2009 The hip results arrived today. Sibelius´s hips are D/B, elbows 0/0.
24.8.2009 Sibelius had his official health test. Unfortunately he has MRD (multifocal retinal dysplasia) in his eyes. His knees are healthy, but we will have to wait a few weeks for the hip and elbow results.

19.7.2009 What a wonderful show weekend! Sibelius took part in the Oulu International show. On Saturday he was third best male and got a CAC and on Sunday he was Best of Breed, got a CAC and a CACIB! I was so surprised! So on Sunday we got to stay for the Group Competition but didn´t get placed. It was a long and hot day and we were both quite tired after it.
5.7.2009 I just finished the first week of my summer holiday. It was great, lot's of time for family and dogs:) Both dogs got trimmed. Moses loves being brushed so I've been brushing him for hours!
With Sibelius we have practised fetching from water and we also had a nother blood trail practise. This time it didn't go as well as last time. Sibelius wasn't so interested in the trail. While following the trail he stopped to eat some grass and seamed a bit bored with it. We will practise more and I´m sure he will find that enthusiasm again.
6.6.2009 Sibelius became ESTONIAN JUNIOR CHAMPION!
We had a nice trip to Tallinn Estonia where we attended the Spaniel Speciality Show. Sibelius was Best of Breed, Best Junior of Breed, got his third JUN CAC and therefore became Estonian Junior Champion! Unfortunately we had to leave and could not stay for the group competion or for the Estonian Winner 2009 show which was held the next day:(
But we got already more than we came for so I am very proud of Sibelius. This time he even behaved very nicely in the ring:)
26.5.2009 Summer is here and we have been busy with all kinds of activities. Sibelius has proved that he really is a great swimmer. When Antti went fishing in our small boat, Sibelius started swimming after him. At first Antti didn´t even notice Sibelius was following him by swimming. When he finally saw the brown head in the water he had to turn back to bring Sibelius home. Sibelius got a nice swimming trip for about 200 meters of the shore and back!
We have also done some blood tracking with Sibelius. I already knew that Sibelius has a good nose, but after practising with a blood trail I am convinced that we will take part in a Blood Tracking Trial. After getting a scent Sibelius was like on fire following the track. He took scent from air but mostly from the ground. Sibelius is a very versatile dog and I just wish I had more time to practise everything with him.
26.4.2009 Yesterday was the International Show here in Lahti. Sibelius was second best male and got his third CAC (there were only two Field Spaniel entries). The Judge Mrs. Arja Koskelo liked Sibelius very much, but thought he was still very young looking. It was a long show day because we went there early. By the time it was Sibelius turn, he was too tired to show his best. His movement was lazy and his enthusiasm was gone...
We have started calling Sibelius "Dennis the Menace". He has shown his wittiness by creating new ways for getting out of our garden. Sibelius loves chasing; birds, cats, balls, anything that moves. So when he sees a bird he´ll want to chase it as far as he can, which mostly means going to neighbours gardens. We have started improving our garden fence and we had to put Sibelius on a long leash. He was fine untill he saw a bird. Then right under our eyes he took the leash in his mouth and before we could do anything he had chewed his way out of the leash and gone after the bird. Luckily he doesn't run a way and quickly returns.
So first we made our fence higher, but then Sibelius went under it. Then we had to dig the fence in to the ground, but today he found a place where the fence wasn´t as high as every where else, so he started jumping against the fence, got his paws on the fence and somehow managed to get over it! We´ll have to do some fixing again. Today I also found him standing on our garden table! I guess he would really make a great Agility dog!
19.4.2009 Spring is finally here with almost all the snow gone. Sibelius and I missed a few shows because I had a flu. But next weekeend will be the Lahti International Show here in our hometown, we´ll see what happens there:)
Our plans for the summer include taking part in a tracking test and trying to pass the working test. In Finland to achieve the Finnish Champion title a Field Spaniel has to pass the working test and then win three CAC´s from different judges, with one of the CAC´s after the age of two years.

15.3.2009 Today was Tampere International Dog Show with nine Field Spaniel entries. Sibelius was Best Dog 2nd and got his second CAC here in Finland! He was a little clown in the ring: laying down when he should stand, jumping while running etc. I guess we will have to practise a lot more.
9.3.2009 Sibelius´s brother Elgert D´Lacey "Hugo" was Best Field Spaniel Puppy at Crufts! Congratulations Gretel!

Sibelius took part in a group show in Valkeala. This was his first time competing for CAC here in Finland. He was Best of Breed with a CAC! Sibelius behaved very nicely in the ring, so I am very proud of him:)
We have also gone back to our weekly routine of obedience training. Sibelius and I both enjoy the training. So everything is going well, except for the fact that Sibelius seems to be too clever for us:) Our neighbours have a new cat which Sibelius just can´t seem to resist. He stays with Moses in our fenced garden, but when he sees the cat he will do anything to get to it. We have been fixing our fence and making it higher, but Sibelius always finds a new way to get out. Everytime I see Moses sitting by our gate staring outside, I know Sibelius has gone to see the cat. Moses is also amazed that Sibelius can just get out of the garden, because Moses has never gotten over the fences.
We have a really funny looking fence at the moment with some ugly extensions. We will have to wait for the snow to melt, before we can build a new fence. My husband thinks we´ll have to make the same kind of fence that the highways have here in Finland to stop the moose from coming to the road:)

Year 2009 started quite well for Sibelius. During the weekend we took part in two dog shows in Estonia and Sibelius was Best Junior and Best of Breed on both days!!! He also received two Junior CAC´s, which means he will need one more to get the title of Estonian Junior Champion.

Time flies. Our little Sibelius is now 9 months. He's doing fine. We are still having a Christmas break in obedience training and we have been a bit lazy with hunting too... But we'll continue with it soon:)
